article This week, The Hill reported that Trump’s energy secretary, Scott Pruitt, has promised to lead a “new approach” to curbing climate change, with the goal of bringing the country back to “a clean energy future.”
Trump has repeatedly called climate change a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.
The president has made a series of promises to the American people to protect the environment and the environment itself.
On Thursday, Trump tweeted that he wants the EPA and his Energy Department to take action on climate change:I want the Environmental Protection Agency to focus on the problem and take a serious look at the solutions.
I want all the departments of the Interior and Energy to focus their energy and resources on the solutions to the problem.
Pruitt’s statement on climate and energy is a reversal from his initial claim that climate change is “a hoax perpetrated in the Obama administration.”
Trump also said that he “wanted the EPA to focus” on “the problem and to take a seriously look at it.”
But Pruitt is likely not in a position to lead that effort.
As the head of the EPA, he will be working closely with other agencies, such as the Department of Energy, to implement Trump’s proposed budget cuts.
The White House has yet to confirm whether Pruitt will continue to be a key player in the Trump administration’s climate and clean energy efforts.
