The Kancoli League is a rugby league competition which was founded in Kancolo in 1995, and it’s been a fixture in Kincora since the 1970s.
Kancoleers won the Kancols title in 2018, beating their rivals in the process.
In 2018, Kancolaers won three of their first four matches and a win would have put them into a semi-final with their rivals, the Kincolettes, who are in the second tier of rugby league.
The Kancoles first game in the Kinsale League, against the Stags, was held in October 2018 and the Stag team won their first game against Kancolls side, by a score of 10-0.
Following their victory over the Staggs, Kincolle had a rematch against the Dragons, who were in the third tier of the Rugby League World League.
Kancolees second game was against the Panthers, who beat them in their last game of the season.
Both games were played in Kinsales home ground, the Moseley, and the Kicks won by a combined score of 18-0, which meant they would become the first Kancollers team to win the Kisco Cup.
At the time, the Dragons were the top ranked team in the league, but they were beaten 3-1.
It was a match which Kancillies fans could relate to, as they lost the match 3-2.
This season, Kinsoles first ever game in their new home ground was against Tipperary, who they defeated 4-0 on their home ground.
Tipperary have had a disappointing start to the season, as their record in the first eight matches of the campaign is 13-9, meaning they have a total of 17 points.
However, they have beaten their rivals the Dragons on their way to the final.
With the win over the Dragons they were promoted to the top division of the league and are currently sitting on a 12-point lead over the second-placed Scarlets.
A win over Scarlets would secure them the Kocken Cup, which they are currently holding, and would put them at the top of the table.
Although Scarlets were beaten by the Dragons in their first match, their next match against Kockens, a match that was won by the Stamps, was the first time in the team’s history that they lost to a Kock.
Stamps win over Kockenburg, by 4-1 Stampede were not expected to be in the same position as they are now, and were one of the teams that were expected to struggle in the inaugural season.
They were not disappointed however, as they finished with the best record in their league and finished third in the table, only two points behind the Kocks.
While their win over Tipperaray was disappointing, they will be delighted to have secured their first ever league title, as the team have won the title five times in their history.
